What a curious effect -- the difference in the horizon lines makes the path on the left feel like it's going uphill, but only in contrast to the straight path on the right. Left feels like smooth skiing (calm), and right feels like driving a race car (intense), but the most interesting difference, for me, is that the left path presents choices at the beginning (where the other path intersects it) while the right path is compulsory. The lower horizon on the right makes it feel like I'm accelerating as my eye goes from the left path to the right.
I think you must have made a conscious decision to change the horizon line to let the bent tree on the left seem to extend into the picture on the right -- that's my favorite effect. Cheers!
